China Central Television /CCTV/ announced in 2002 that the international architectural firm "Office for Metropolitan Architecture" won the contract for the design and construction of the new television building and ancillary buildings.
The headquarters of China Central Television, which is located in the central business district of Beijing, was completed in 2003, after the completion of construction engineering calculations. In 2004, the heavy work of piling foundations began. Starting from the 36th floor, the upper part was connected with the 13-15 floor blocks, and the glass facade work was completed in 2008. The interior work started in 2008, but due to the fire of the adjacent building, the construction work was delayed and was completed in 2012, and then it was officially opened in 2013. It has 51 floors above the ground and 3 floors below the ground, and its height is 234m.

The project was executed by OMA /Office for Metropolitan Architecture/, and the founder of the architecture firm, Danish architect and 2000 Prifker Prize winner Rem Koolhaas, described his work as:
“The style of modern high-rise buildings has become commonplace Qatar Mobile Number List and must be broken. A more dynamic shape of the building was combined with a heavy cantilever structure /75m long/ through architecture and engineering. "The project is a joint work of Europe and Asia, and it is a fusion of two different cultures, which a Chinese person cannot imagine alone and Europeans cannot build alone . "

The engineering calculation of the building structure was carried out in cooperation with the local or Chinese company ECADRI /east china architectural design and research institute/.
One tower-shaped block is an office, the other is a TV broadcast unit. The 13-15-story block connecting these 2 blocks is the administrative and public space with a restaurant, cafe, and viewing point. A total of 600 billion euros were spent on the project, making it the largest steel building in China.
